Francois Hollande

I used the word dangerous in regard to Hollande. Why?

He opposes the extreme fiscal tightening imposed on the euro zone by Germany... by rejecting the austerity programme he risks racking up France's debt to unmanageable proportions... which raises the prospect of the unravelling of the euro-zone... Now, there's a moon-Jupiter-Uranus opposition for you.

Hello...

In a little under a week we shall be witnessing the first eclipse of the year, and since eclipses tend to put their signature on events of significance we might want to get all our ducks in a row now. By which I mean, answering all those emails, filing those forms and dealing with that awkward customer. Travelling on or near eclipse days can be interesting - you’d be surprised how many computers go down in communication and travel centres, so if you’ve decided to economize by skimping on insurance or putting off that car service, perhaps you should think again. The sun heads into the sign of Gemini on the 20th so for the next four weeks we all get a chance to try out some new roles and dance to as many different tunes as we like.

The Month Ahead...

May 2012

Any month with a sun-Jupiter conjunction in it has to be a good month. And May has both a sun-Jupiter conjunction (13th) and a Mercury-Jupiter conjunction (22nd). Aim to set a situation in motion on or near these dates, and watch it grow. Other dates for your diary should include the weekend of the 5th/6th when Mercury and Saturn will be in opposition and there is a full moon in Scorpio: this is not perhaps the jolliest period of May but it will be purposeful. Venus in Gemini turns retrograde on the 15th, a matter of days before a solar eclipse (20th) making this one of the more volatile periods of the month. Neptune is bound up in the eclipse story, so the ministry of spin will be operating at full tilt, and the weird and the wonderful will be present in equal measure. Especially if you have a birthday on or near 19th February, 20th May, 23rd August or 22nd November this part of May could prove pivotal to your future. The month ends on a positive Uranus note – unusual in itself – so open yourself up to the new and the exceedingly different.

Norway's Darkest Hour

They were clearly manifesting on 22 July in Oslo and on the island of Utoya.

On the day itself you would be hard pressed to point a finger at an astrological culprit. The second half of July was notable for its celestial harmony with the worst of Saturn and Pluto over during the week of the 11th. The only major challenge to come was a Mercury-Neptune opposition on the 29th July. So, only a sixth sense would enable you to pick this moment as Norway's darkest hour since World War II.

However...

Norway's chart does show signs of upheaval, although one's first thought would be that the country is ripe for political and constitutional change. In the June, 1905 horoscope (marking Norway's separation from Sweden) there is a Uranus-Neptune opposition which is currently being activated by Uranus and Pluto. While Norway is a rich country, one which has largely escaped the worst effects of the global recession, like all of Scandinavia, there is a strong undertow of right wing thought. Many of the crime novels of Jo Nesbo and Stieg Larsson focus on these underground movements. And, like it or not, the actions of Anders Behring Breivik have thrust the right wing issue right up our noses.

2012 - Global Trends

2012 is considered to be such a portentous year for the planet that Hollywood even made a movie about it. It was, sad to say, all doom and gloom with a lot of fire and brimstone thrown in for good measure.

So, why has 2012 caught people’s imagination? What is there about the year ahead that is so awe-inspiring?

In a nutshell, the ancient Maya developed a sophisticated and extremely complicated calendar that spanned the millennia and it stops, according to many scholars, on 21 December 2012.

Too add fuel to the fire of speculation, it is said that the earth will align with the Galactic Centre on that very day, which could have some very undesirable consequences for our planet.
