What a week! A string of key astrological developments makes this both an exciting and anxiety-making period of 2014. You need to move carefully, whether you are delighted at the prospect of a new beginning or reacting to a less than welcome development. And although these are extremes, all Arians should remain focussed and keep their feet on the ground.
This could indeed be a time of positive events, but for many, even without clear evidence, this week marks the end a pattern of frustrating set-backs. And with Mars finally exiting the area of relationships a long-standing disagreement could be over, and a partner or an ex a lot easier to deal with.
Home is where the heart is, and it’s certainly where all the action is this July - family gatherings, important developments in the lives of family members and a lot of hard work for the Aries home-maker and entertainments officer. Try not to let events of the first week spoil the otherwise happy period: the chances are a few practical steps will be all that is needed to set a wrong to rights. The weekend of the 12th has an aura of ends-of-chapters about it, and a property sale or purchase could be in the mix. On or near the 22nd, take any last moment changes in your stride, and be mindful of your movements – act in haste, repent in leisure. On the 16th Jupiter’s move to the area of creative endeavours sets the stage for the birth of many new and exciting projects over the coming year.
The Year Ahead for Aries
2014 is a watershed year. You are leaving behind an established pattern of existence and moving into a new world. This may be quite literal in that you will be leaving home territory and living and working in a foreign location; but it is also a metaphor: you yourself are fundamentally changing so that certain aspects of life, certain people, are fading into the distance.
And it’s a positive thing; not something to be feared. The eclipses of 15 April and 8 October are the year’s power points, and it is around these dates that the most impressive developments take place. Do not overreach yourself in 2014. This does not mean you cannot aspire to better things; more that you don’t punch above your weight and live beyond your means.
Good things will come toward you and you want to be ready to seize them, not rushing around trying to find funds and complete unfinished business. From mid-July creativity in all its many guises is a major theme: parenthood for some; a life-style make-over for others.
With sexy but combative Mars in your opposite sign until late July, it’s who you know and who loves you. People can make or break you. If you think you’ve come to terms with being single, don’t be surprised when the love of your life comes along and makes you an offer you cannot refuse! And should you have resigned yourself to yet more years in relationship purgatory, don’t be amazed if events on or near those aforementioned eclipse dates bring an end to your term of trial.
Jupiter’s passage through the love zone from July onwards will mend many broken hearts and preside over many happy celebrations.
May and October are the times to plan special dates with your significant other – the weekend of 18 October is perfect for a wedding. By contrast, a long-term relationship could go up in smoke on or near 23 April.
There are many great opportunities just waiting for you, Aries, so remain cool and collected should jobs and partnerships suddenly end. Keep focused and rather than toot your own horn, let your work speak for itself. People have noticed you, and a top job could become yours. Nevertheless, you have made enemies..Once again it is that late April period that has the most to offer in the way of new jobs and opportunities to showcase your leadership skills and creative talents.
January is difficult month career-wise and money-wise, and reality checks will be par for the course in mid-May, early August and late November. Saturn continues to warn against overspending and over-optimistic projections, but property sales and purchases should do much to boost your long-term financial interests.
Aries is one of the zodiac’s greatest entrepreneurs, so if you haven’t yet considered starting your own business, what’s stopping you? Certainly not 2014’s seminal alignments.

What kind of woman at the age of forty-eight, frumpy, overweight and sporting one of the great uni-brows, could stand centre stage in front of hundreds of people and sing as though she was already a platinum-label recording star. An Aries with Gemini rising, that's who!
